Fiction
Kate has just completed her first short story collection, Wool Spin Burn. Its twelve loosely linked stories travel from suburban Brisbane to the fictional country town of Roweston, and beyond to an Australian offshore detention centre. Its intersecting characters deal with the anxieties and challenges posed by the complexities of contemporary society and the limitations of personal experience.
Wool Spin Burn was shortlisted for the 2015 Queensland Literary Awards (Emerging Queensland Writer - Manuscript category). Several of its stories have been published in Australian literary journals and anthologies, and recognised in national literary competitions, including:
